E. MENDOZA MERLOT (Alicante)

Enrique Mendoza Merlot is a red wine ripening for 11 months in French Allier oak barrels and Oregon American oak. Made with Merlot and Monastrell. A blend in equal parts of the Merlot and Monastrell varieties. The grapes come from Finca El Chaconero, where the vines are grown on sandy and slimy soils. For processing the must fermented in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 26oC for 20 days. Malolactic fermentation was then carried out in oak barrels.

It is a high expression ruby red wine with garnet flashes and medium-high layer. On the palate it is ripe, serene with a fine and elegant tannic load. The aromas of scrubland such as rosemary, spleen and thyme are joined with red strawrows and floral aromas characteristic of the variety. Alcohol content: 14 % vol.
