It is a red wine produced by Bodegas Pittacum in the D.O. Bierzo.Se it is a varietal Mencía, native variety of the Bierzo.La grape comes from different plots of old vines cultivated on steep slopes of clay facing north and east, which gives this wine a marked Atlantic character. The harvest is carried out manually and the grapes are transferred to the winery in small boxes of 12 kg trying to avoid unwanted breaks of the grain before reaching the winery. The grapes pass through a selection table where cluster is chosen. The grapes are destemmed and unsquered is introduced into the deposits where it will ferment for 15 days at a temperature of 25oC, applying bazookas and light pumping with the idea of preserving all the fruit and performing a selective extraction. Petit Pittacum is aged for 3 months in barrels.
